The Lodge opens on 01.06.2020 again!
We fulfill the Portuguese safety guidelines regarding COVID-19
Due to the current positive developments in Portugal and the gradual lifting of Corona-related restrictions, we will resume our activities on the 1st of June 2020.
In order to make sure our guests can enjoy an active and carefree holiday, we have committed ourselves to implementing the hygiene and safety guidelines elaborated by the Portuguese tourism and health authorities regarding COVID-19 in the Lodge. We have also simplified our advance payment and cancellation policies.
Developments in Portugal and measures in the Lodge
Due to the Portuguese government’s timely reaction, the number of COVID-19 cases in Portugal could be kept low from the start. At the same time, the population’s cooperation was very disciplined and exemplary, allowing for a step plan for gradual lifting of the Corona-related restrictions to come into effect on the 4th of May 2020. This includes the suspension of the quarantine obligation for travelers. At the moment (status: 09. May 2020), the following establishments/activities have been reactivated:
Outdoor sports (including surfing, climbing and biking) in small groups (up to 5 persons plus instructor/guide), gastronomy, shops, public transport, cultural facilities, attractions and many more (ATTENTION: masks are compulsory in public transportation and shops). By the 1st of June, gradually most sectors will reopen.
At the same time, European air traffic is resuming, and more and more airlines are taking up their flights to Lisbon again in the coming weeks (e.g. Lufthansa, Eurowings, TAP, WizzAir, KLM, Air France).
Our certification with the Portuguese tourism authority’s (Turismo de Portugal) “Clean & Safe” certificate attests that we are implementing the guidelines specified by the national health authority on site. These include, among others:
- Training and awareness raising of employees
- Provision of protective and disinfection material (e.g. masks, disinfectant…)
- Informing our guests about all necessary measures
- Marking safety distances in all key areas of our facility
- Extended sanitation measures, especially in common areas
- Respecting capacity restrictions, e.g. in common areas, vehicles etc.
- Existence of a contingency plan for suspected COVID-19 cases.
Therefore, we believe that by following a certain “Corona-Etiquette”, even in times of COVID-19 you can have a relaxed and pleasant holiday.
We definitely look forward to seeing you!
Sunny Regards from the whole team.
